Changing the cultural landscape in Istanbul
SALT Galata is a newcomer to the Istanbul art scene but may quickly become a heavy weight in changing the cultural landscape of our city.
SALT is housed in a marvelous historical building originally designed by Alexandre Vallaury for the Ottoman Bank. The redesign of the building was finished under the consultancy of Han Tümertekin, a holder of the Agha Khan award. The result is an architectural wonder and you should not miss it.
SALT Galata houses a public library, workshop spaces as well as exhibition spaces focused on art and performance. There is also a nice café, a restaurant with a great view over Karaköy and the Galata Bridge as well as a bookstore on-site.
Open from 12pm to 8pm daily except Mondays (Sundays 10:30am to 6pm).
