Nar opened in 2011 on the 5th floor of the Armaggan store.
Nar is the creation of Vedat Başaran, who has dedicated a lifetime to the traditional Turkish cuisine. Trained in the UK, Mr. Başaran has since created a number of the top restaurants in Istanbul; among them are Tuğra at the Çiragan Kempinski Hotel and Feriye in Ortaköy.
At Nar, Başaran has mostly focused on the Ottoman and Turkish cuisines; his specialty area. The food that is served here is made with fresh, natural ingredients following traditional Ottoman and Turkish cooking styles.
The result is marvelous and the ambiance is sophisticated and artful. Do not miss this gem while you are in the neighborhood.
