Mikla

Mikla is the creative outlet of the star chef Mehmet Gürs who was born in Finland and is one of the few star chefs in Istanbul. The name of the restaurant comes from Finland, as well. Apparently, Finnish call Istanbul Miklagard, which means “big village” in Finnish and hence the venue’s name.

Mehmet Gürs’ cuisine is described as fusion inspired by the flavors of Anatolia, Mediterranean and Finland. The lamb is delicious here and so are the martinis made with pomegranate. Let us mention that this venue has a marvelous view of the city and therefore makes a perfect spot for any celebration. Dress code is metro chic and reservation is needed.

Dinner only. Opens at 6pm daily except for Sundays.

We like: Kuzu incik (lamb shank), lagos (grouper) and martinis.
